Gróðurkort af Íslandi sýnir einfaldaða samantekt
á ríkjandi gróðursamfélögum. Þar sem land hefur
nokkuð samfellda gróðurhulu er sýnt hvers eðlis
ríkjandi gróðursamfélög eru, en hálfgróið eða
minna gróið land flokkast eftir landgerð.
Kortlagningin er byggð á gróðurkortum,
loftmyndurm, gervituglamyndum og korti af
birkiskógum og kjarri. The vegetation map of
Iceland shows the predominant vegetation groups
in simplified terms. In areas with more-or-less
unbroken vegetations cover, predominant form of
vegetations is shown. In regions where
vegetations covers half or less of the area, the
type of land is indicated. The map is based on
vegetations maps, satellite pictures and a map
showing birch woods and scrubs.
