It’s said to be a place for children with whom the Procedure has gone wrong, a place to quiet their terrible powers.

After years of bargaining, threatening, and spying, Birdie has finally found a way into the House where she’s long suspected her sister - sold to the Procedure seven years ago - is being held.

Nothing is what she expected. All the children appear to be boringly human, especially silent, mesmerizing Forest, who doesn't speak. Her fellow maid, Arrow, is meek and obedient, like Birdie. Isn't she?

Birdie has been prepared to do whatever it takes to find her sister, but as she digs deeper into the secrets of the House - and the lives of its inhabitants—she will unearth threats more terrifying than she could have imagined, forcing her to confront just how much she’s willing to give up.

Because in the House of Quiet, if you find what’s lurking beneath... you lose everything.
